The image of power in the views of Russians: experience of using the free association method

The article elicits features of projective methods in so-cial sciences, as well as analyzes the results of a study devoted to the image of power in the perceptions of Russians which was based on pro-jective methods. The study made use of one of the types of projective methods, namely the free association method, rather popular in both psy-cholinguistics and sociolinguistics. In this particular case, the method was applied in order to identify word associations to stimulus words related to Russia’s political sphere in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
