Abstract

The paper presents a brief review of the book, written by famous British feminist and activist Caroline Criado Perez, which received the Royal Society Insight Investment Science Book Prize in 2019. The reviewer regards the book as an informative account of the epistemological mechanisms underlying issues related to gender inequalities. Like Caroline Criado Perez, the author hopes that identifying gender bias in the way we construct, collect and interpret data can change the existing order because when women step out from the shadows, the gender gap closes.
