This review presents research papers included in the Information and Analytical Bulletin «Russian volunteering in emergency situations: portrait, motives, activity» (2021). In the given issue, the authors offer readers the results of one of the stages of the research project «Volunteering in emergency situations as a response to natural and technogenic challenges in Russia». Particular attention was paid to the socio-demographic portrait of volunteers, their motivations and values, the difficulties they face, and the organizational aspects of volunteering in emergency situations.
