The book under review attempts to analyze the relation between movies and the real world. It shows how national and foreign films reflect the realities of contemporary life: the dynamics of public change and the intergenerational conflicts it causes; the specifics of a national character; the hardships of letting go of the past; human behavior in crisis conditions; and the difficulties a person experiences when interacting with new technologies.
